I’m a comparison shopper. I can tell you where to get the best deal, whether it’s a couch or tile for the kitchen floor. For financial services, you can’t beat Credit Union of Denver. Because they’re a not for profit, they can offer better loan rates and higher savings yields.  It’s more value for a smart shopper.

I have been with the credit union for almost 5 years now. I used their HELOC promotion to consolidate some credit card debt and it has been so easy to pay off at a lower interest rate. After paying it down I had availability to fix a few things around the house as well.  Everybody is always so nice and friendly when I go in. The online payments are easy and the new Credit Monitoring Service they have has been extremely helpful.

This member had used a payday lender for her auto loan and was paying way too much in interest. By refinancing her car loan and paying off her personal loans, we gave her a much lower interest rate and saved her $668.83/month, with a yearly savings of over $8,000!

A member needed $4,800 to remain in a nursing program but didn't have the funds. Since she had quite a bit of value in her car, we were able to redo that loan, get her the $4,800 she needed to finish her schooling, pay off some collections and overall lower her monthly payments by $100!  She said our personal attention to figure out a solution for her "blew her away."

A couple asked us to see if we could help them with a personal loan. They had a reduction in income, putting some stress on their finances. Through a home equity loan consolidation (actually paid off a higher rate home equity loan from elsewhere) we were able to pay all their bills, get them some extra cash and save the $1,339/month!  She was almost in tears at the end.

One of our new members was referred by their friend. He had been saving for a truck and needed some help. We not only got him an auto loan with an affordable payment, but we showed him a way to also improve his credit score. His reaction was so sweet. “You were such a blessing to me!”

I have been able to observe how your frontline staff is so personable with members. I have seen tellers help some elderly members with making them feel comfortable in the lobby, by grabbing comfortable chairs and bringing them over so that they don't have to stand for long periods while the employee uses the coin machine. The personalized service is meaningful. The Member Service reps help members through some tough times. For those like me, experiencing fraud on accounts, they help us know that they have our backs in rough times. I would like to add that the receptionists are great with helping members too. Thank you for what you do!

We had a situation with a mortgage member who was experiencing a financial hardship. He had been let go from his job and with no income and had fallen two months behind on his mortgage. I worked with the member alongside with an organization called Neighbor to Neighbor to help him to get current.  The organization works with families to help prevent their homes from going into foreclosure. We worked hand in hand with his counselor to get the appropriate documentation and figures to them so that they could approve the member and assist him in getting the monies needed to bring his loan current.  He has a new job now and is currently in training.

Our member, Tim, is retired and raising his grandchildren.  He and his wife have custody of the grandchildren. They had been receiving child support from their daughter, but she lost her job and stopped paying. With their income reduced and having to support 3 grandchildren, he was unable to afford their $510 payment on his auto loan. His loan was originally $24,802 and he had paid it down to $4,264. After reviewing his loan situation, we were able to do a loan modification to help the member keep his truck and have a lower payment.
